Arnold stands as a true Republican

Sadly, both Mr. Greenberg's and Mr. Morris' literature has almost exclusively been absent of any hint that either of them are Republicans.

This became fully evident when seeing both of their yard signs out in just the last two weeks. In stark contrast, a true and long-serving Republican activist and leader, Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Arnold, has, since the start of his congressional race, proudly displayed either a large elephant symbol or the word "Republican" in his literature and yard signs.

As a former Lake County Republican precinct committeeman for many years and a truly dedicated Republican, I have to ask both of Mr. Arnold's opponents the following question: "Why are you ashamed at calling yourselves -- and boldly advertising that you are in fact -- Republican? Why aren't you proudly displaying the Republican brand before all the public like Ken Arnold is?"

Being a Republican means something. It means we believe in a more local and responsive government, we believe in the sanctity of the individual making many of their own decisions and not some bureaucrat, and we believe that government should spend our money no worse than we spend our money. These things are items all Republicans, and all Republican candidates, should be proud to trumpet and display.

Why aren't Mr. Morris and Mr. Greenberg following Mr. Arnold's clear and proud efforts at trumpeting our party and principles? Are you really that timid or unsure? Perhaps you are too ashamed? Possibly you are too unsure of these principles to proudly trumpet them?

Being now so close to the Feb. 5 Republican primary election, it's already too late for Ken Arnold's two opponents to start to "proudly display the brand" before the voters. Besides, why now go with somebody who's scolded into doing something versus somebody who's unabashedly Republican like Mr. Arnold.

I urge voters to support Ken Arnold for the 8th Congressional District seat this Feb. 5. When doing battle against incumbent Democrat Melissa Bean, having a true Republican who stands firm for everything our Party is and stands for will do a lot toward winning back this seat. Mr. Arnold continues to display this. Sadly, his opponents do not.
