City officials should stop red light tickets
In the wake of the parking meter fiasco, here comes a millionaire alderman sending those who have gone through red lights to "red light school." A $100 ticket supplemented by $25 for the "red light education class."
I would think he and his mates in the city council would be running for shelter after rubber stamping the parking meter sale. Businesses are hemorrhaging customers with Daley and the city council's complete lack of common sense. Alderman Burke says the fee isn't the thing, but the "educational benefit it would create."
Well, here's the thing: Maybe the alderman should come back to earth and live in the real world and educate himself about the plight of the people who are out of jobs, their homes being lost and strapped for funds after paying their inflated parking fees. This mayor and these aldermen need to be replaced.
