It'll take all of us to force true reform
I commend the Daily Herald for the articles and editorials on ethics reform in Illinois government.
Diminishing corruption in our state is up to us. If you are reading this editorial, you are one of the few informed people in the state who is actually taking an interest in what goes on outside your own little world.
However, we can't do this alone. We need the Herald to keep publishing articles on corruption. We need to know how our representatives vote on key issues, and where they are getting their campaign cash from. We need to know if Mr. Madigan is not bringing up ethics reform legislation for vote on the house floor.
Remember, the more cash a candidate raises the more favors they have to pay back once elected. If your elected official doesn't support ethics reform, don't vote for him or her.
And Daily Herald, please keep reporting on these issues. From local government, school boards, up to federal government, give us the dirt!
