1 killed, another wounded in shooting

Chicago police say one man was killed and another was shot in the face in two separate gun attacks in the Chicago lawn neighborhood on the city's southwest side.

Officers say the first attack occurred late Friday evening when two men approached a 24-year-old who was standing on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Washtenaw Ave. and shot him several times.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the second attack, a man was shot in the face shortly before midnight in the 5900 block of South Kedzie Ave. That victim was reported in serious condition early Saturday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

No one was in custody for either shooting early Saturday.
