'High School Musical 2' on stage in Palatine

ArtReach Educational Theatre in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company is staging "High School Musical 2," at 7:30 p.m. July 30 and July 31; and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 3839 W. Frontage Road, Palatine.

School is out, but the drama is just beginning as Troy, Gabriella and friends arrive at the Lava Springs Country Club. The annual talent show is coming up and Sharpay has her sights set on winning the prize and stealing Troy's heart. Audience members of all ages are sure to enjoy the show as the summer's events unfold in song and dance.

The show is directed and choreographed by Dan Walsh and Jessica Harrigan Texidor, both of Chicago. Cast members are: Jonah Parra of Palatine as Troy Bolton; Nisha Moorkoth of Palatine as Gabriella Montez; Gabrielle Jones of Arlington Heights as Sharpay Evans; Ian Hoffman of Palatine as Ryan Evans; Livi Seller of Lake Zurich as Taylor McKessie; Jack Williams of Palatine as Chad Danforth; Natasha Kalafatis as Fulton; Sara Beth Rabin of St. Charles as Kelsi Nielsen; Julie Hoadley of Palatine as Martha Cox; Tony Ball of Palatine as Zeke Baylor; and Rachel Corrado of Lake Zurich, Olivia Dal Porto of Lake Zurich, and Sarah Rosenberg of Arlington Heights as the Sharpettes.
