Daley bets dogs on Hawks win

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is willing to bet his city's jumbo franks, organic cheese, and Ret Hots candy that Chicago Blackhawks will beat the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference semi-final playoffs.

Daley's also wagering two dozen cupcakes, three cases of beer, and Chicago 2016 Olympic bid gear. His counterpart in Vancouver, Mayor Gregor Robertson, is betting bottles of cherry stout, a box of chocolates, a case of smoked salmon, some vegetarian blueberry sauce, and Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games gear.

Daley has made similar wagers in support of the Chicago Cubs and White Sox. This time, Chicago's booty may be at risk: the Canucks defeated the Blackhawks 5-3 in the opening game semifinals Thursday.
