2 Chicago teens charged in student's death

A second teenager has been charged in the shooting death of a Chicago student whose body was found severely burned.

Chicago police say 18-year-old Edgar Silva is scheduled to appear in court on Friday and faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Chicago Public Schools student Alex Arellano. Earlier Thursday, 15-year-old Jovanny Martinez of Chicago was charged as an adult in the death and ordered held without bail.

Police say Arellano's body was found in an alley on May 2, one day after the 15-year-old student was reported missing. The Cook County medical examiner's office says he died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Martinez's attorney had asked for a reasonable bond because of Martinez's age and his family's low income.
