Scholarship story was obnoxious

Your front-page story on the virtual scholarship (Aug. 7) is offensive and obnoxious. But congratulations to that family on apparently having friends in high places at the Daily Herald willing to give them that kind of free advertising. Somehow, I don't think a truly needy child would have received the same attention, if any. Very poor judgment.
