Batavia man accused in robbery attempt
A Batavia man was in jail Tuesday on charges he tried to rob two men in Geneva, then attacked them when they refused to give him money, police said.
Danny L. Kaminski, 37, of the 1200 block of Brandywine Circle, is charged with attempted robbery and two counts of aggravated battery in a public place, court records show.
Geneva police said Kaminski and another man who has not been identified approached two men walking Sunday on the 0-99 block of North Second Street and demanded money. When the men refused, Kaminski punched them and ran away, said Cmdr. Julie Nash.
No serious injuries were reported. Kaminski was arrested a short time later on the 200 block of James Drive.
Kaminski was being held Tuesday in the Kane County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond, pending a June 10 court appearance in front of Judge James C. Hallock.
