Thanks to all who keep history alive

Beautiful fall weather, 350 dedicated Civil War re-enactors with their horses, cannons and realistic campsites set the stage for the fifth annual Civil War Reenactment and Living History Weekend at Lehmann Mansion, Longwood Centre in Lake Villa.

Thank you to the re-enactors, local food vendors, local Scout troops, sponsors and volunteers who worked the event and to the public who attended. All proceeds benefit the Lake Villa Historical Society. We are also grateful to the Daily Herald for its coverage before, during and after the event.

Plans are under way for the sixth annual Civil War weekend on Sept. 13-14, 2008. Please note, this is the correct date, not the one published in the schedule distributed to the public.

Thank you one and all for your support.
