Roskam doesn't share our values

Unfortunately, Peter Roskam has not done a very good job as our representative.

At a time when we needed leadership from our Washington representative, all we got was a rubber stamp for all of George Bush's failed policies.

Roskam voted against science and stem cell research while a large majority of our district is in favor of it.

Roskam voted against regulating the subprime mortgage industry. He also voted against a bill prohibiting discrimination at the workplace.

Mr. Roskam voted against stockholders having a vote on executive compensation. CEOs take away millions even if they leave a company in bankruptcy and Roskam feels stockholders shouldn't have a vote.

He also voted against increased research in biofuels while at the same time voting for the continued subsidy's for the oil and gas companies.

Our congressman voted against assistance for workers that lose their jobs to globalization.

He voted against SCHIPs and health care for children.

He voted against a proposal to negotiate drug prices with the pharmaceutical companies for Medicare Part D, we now pay whatever these drug companies demand.

Roskam voted against the minimum wage.

From the above voting, you can see that Roskam supports corporations but does not support the average citizen, Mr. Roskam's values are not the values of our district.
