Baxter: Deaths not caused by heparin blood thinner

Baxter International Inc.'s blood thinner heparin didn't cause deaths at a Delaware hospital, according to the company's investigation.

Three reports of patients with bleeding in the brain last week at Beebe Medical Center in the coastal city of Lewes "were isolated, institution-specific issues," the Deerfield-based drugmaker said today in an e-mailed statement.
