Siblings launch Alley 64 in St. Charles
Brothers Jeremy and Nick Casiello left their construction company behind to build their dream business, a sports bar and restaurant. The brothers and their sister, Tiffany, opened Alley 64 about a month ago at 212 W. Main St.
"It's a sports bar atmosphere with a Harley motorcycle theme and high quality food," said Jeremy, a resident of West Chicago.
The owners, who grew up in Naperville, say the establishment has a "neighborhood feel." Live music is part of the venue. However, Jeremy stressed that it's important to them that the music, mainly country and classic rock, is not overly loud.
"It's more background music - at the level so you can hold a conversation," Jeremy said.
Tiffany is responsible for the bands and music aspect of the business.
The owners have hired a chef to create a full menu. "We have everything from baked clams to steaks," Jeremy said. The meals average under $10 in price.
The business takes the space of Robbins Flower shop. Most customers are surprised at the large size of Alley 64 with a 350 person capacity and seating for 100 outside in the beer garden.
Before launching the business, Jeremy and Nick, of St. Charles, owned Shadow Creek Construction, a business that focused on residential construction. "We've talked about doing something like this all our lives," said Jeremy, 33.
While creating the business, it was important to the owners that they foster a comfortable atmosphere inviting to families. "One of the owners is always here," said Jeremy, who is enjoying getting to know the customers.
The establishment is open from 11 to 1 a.m. during the week and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Small business runs in the Casiello family. The siblings, who graduated from Benet Academy in Lisle, say they grew up helping their father, Nick, run his advertising agency, also in Lisle.
