"Vantage Point"

This action thriller that turns into a mystery builds on an attempted assassination of the president (William Hurt). The story is then told from the point of view of a news producer (Sigourney Weaver), a secret service agent (Dennis Quaid), a police officer (Eduardo Noriega), a tourist (Forest Whitaker), the president and the hit men and their associates. The film's opening 10 minutes and a car chase scene are thrilling.

"My Blueberry Nights"

Elizabeth (Nora Jones) finds out from Jeremy (Jude Law), the owner of a diner, that her boyfriend has been cheating on her. She travels to Memphis and then to Nevada, meeting strange and troubled people along the way. She is a hopeless romantic who learns a lot about herself on this journey. This well-crafted film is beautifully photographed and filled with wonderful music.

"Drillbit Taylor"

On the first day of high school, Filkins (Alex Frost), decides to make life miserable for the entire year for nerds Wade (Nate Hartley), Ryan (Troy Gentile) and Emmitt (David Dorfman). They decide to hire a bodyguard. Without much money, the trio hires Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson) who talks a good game. There are a few funny moments, and with the help of Drillbit, the good guys win in the end.

"Mad Men: Season One"

The award-winning show was created by "Sopranos" producer Matthew Weiner and revolves around the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency in New York City in 1960. The attention to detail in the series is perfect from the wardrobe to the smoking to the mannerisms of the times. Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the top adman, plays the game better than anyone. It is a thought-provoking and terrific series.
