New DVD releases
These DVD'S were released this week:
"Sleepwalking":
When Joleen's (Charlize Theron) boyfriend is busted for drugs, she takes off with her young daughter, Tara (Anna Sophia Robb) and ends up at her brother's apartment. James (Nick Stahl) is there for his sister and niece. When Joleen takes off, James is stuck with Tara. He loses his job and apartment, while Tara ends up in foster care. James gets Tara and goes to his father's (Dennis Hopper) farm where he and his sister were abused as kids. Tara gives James hope and a reason to stop sleepwalking through life.
"The Tracey Fragments":
Ellen Page (Juno) stars in this off-beat film as Tracey, a 15-year-old who doesn't like herself, and runs away from home in search of her younger brother, who is missing. She hypnotized him into believing that he is a dog, and she feels responsible. We meet many quirky characters along the way; the director uses a split-screen approach using different angles and filling the screen with many images.
"The Ruins:"
Four college students are on spring break in Mexico when they are invited to go on an expedition to a recently discovered pyramid.
The temple is in the middle of nowhere, and the tension is building. Their lives are in danger, and they will be killed if they try and leave. Although there is gore, the film is a good physchological horror movie that works.
"Sheryl Crow Live:"
Sheryl Crow has sold more than sixteen million albums, and this terrific concert features many of her hits. Filmmed in high-definition and mixed in 5.1 surround sound, the Grammy award-winning artisthas never sounded better. The songs include "My Favorite Mistake," "The First Cut Is The Deepest," "If It Makes You Happy," "All I Wanna Do," "Soak Up The Sun," "Everyday Is A Winding Road" and many more.
