Todd Stroger - working for all of us

Thanks so much to Todd Stroger for reconsidering the veto for the repeal of the one percentage point sales-tax increase because you considered it an exercise in futility.

Thank you for your generosity and consideration of all residents of Cook County, as evidenced throughout the northwest suburbs where our tax dollars are clearly being distributed fairly.

I was especially aware of the magnificent job being done on road upkeep out this way as I had to order two new tires last week because they were ruined by potholes that still haven't been repaired from this past winter. That's down from the 3 new tires I had to buy last winter!

I was beginning to wonder if road conditions last year were an attempt to keep us trapped in Cook County to prevent us from shopping in Lake County. where the sales tax is lower - but I do see some improvement this year.

Keep up the good work Mr. Stroger and keep those tax dollars working fairly. You're one of many politicians making me proud to be a citizen of Illinois!
