Work of 90 artists on display in Deerfield
Ninety artists from around the world will showcase their creations this weekend at the seventh annual Deerfield Festival of Fine Arts.
The event, set for Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, will feature sculptures, paintings, jewelry, photography, furniture and mixed-media pieces.
The festival will be open each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Park Avenue and Deerfield Road, in downtown Deerfield. It's free and open to the public.
Physical pieces won't be the only art on display. Musicians will perform, too.
On Saturday:
• Jazz musician Edgar Gabriel will perform from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Guitarist Kraig Kenning will play from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
• Jazz vocalist Amanda Crumley will perform from 3 to 5 p.m.
And on Sunday:
• The Belladonna Blues Band will perform from 10 a.m. to noon.
• The Kevin Lucas Orchestra will perform from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
• A band called lo/fi. pioneer will play from 3 to 5 p.m.
Food will be available for purchase.
For those who want to check out the art early, a preview party is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29. Tickets are required for this event, which is open to anyone 21 or older.
Those tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at village hall, 850 Waukegan Road, or by calling (847) 945-5000. A light dinner and wine are included.
