Lake Barrington OTB nixed:

While off-track betting establishments gained village approvals in Buffalo Grove and Hoffman Estates Monday, don't expect one in Lake Barrington. Village President Kevin Richardson said Tuesday that a plan for an OTB inside the landmark Kelsey's Road House on Northwest Highway had been pulled. Inter-Track Partners President Bob Bilocerkowycz confirmed the petition had been withdrawn. Inter-Track would have leased space from Kelsey's and operated the OTB, hoping to boost businesses for the bar and restaurant. The proposal was discussed in February by Lake Barrington officials, and received with mixed reviews from residents who thought it was a bad fit for their community.
