Palatine subdivision vote delayed

The dispute over the Maison du Comte luxury townhouse subdivision near Harper College in Palatine remains unresolved.

For at least the fourth time, the village council pushed back the vote over the developer's proposed changes, this time to June 1.

Several residents became angry with the developer when he requested to scale back some amenities outlined in the original planned development, which was approved in 2002. The main issues are whether to build a walking path and construct a gate around the subdivision, where townhouses sold for between $600,000 and $800,000.

An agreement has apparently been reached, but both parties asked for a continuance while the process of turning over the homeowners association from the developer to the homeowners is finalized.
