Someone has to pay for quality of life
Americans have the incredibly good fortune to live in a country with good public services. The quality of our roads, schools, fire and police protection, and emergency response teams all contribute to our way of life. We can also take an evening walk with the dog, relaxed in peace and safety.
All of us should be ready to do our part to support our way of life.
The median salary of Americans is about $50,000 and has remained stagnant during the last decade.
The top 2 percent of wage earners have seen their incomes rise meteorically.
It is now time for those earning above $250,000. per year to pay more in taxes to help us maintain our way of life.
They should willingly pay more to support the physical and social infrastructure that has made it possible for them to succeed.
