Kimball Hill School celebrates Kindergym Olympics

Kimball Hill School in Rolling Meadows held its 25th annual Kindergym Olympics last week Wednesday, an event that has become an honored tradition at the school.

The Olympics are the culmination of the PTA's yearlong program for kindergartners designed to improve their motor skills and coordination, and also introduce them to the concepts of teamwork and good sportsmanship, said Tracy McMahon, a co-chair of the Kindergym committee along with Linda Andersen and Jodi Check.

In April of each year, the parents and teachers transform the Kimball Hill gym into an Olympic stadium, and the children have a processional, demonstrate what they've learned and win gold medals (every child wins gold).
