Burris won't say if he'll seek full term

MASCOUTAH -- U.S. Senator Roland Burris isn't saying whether he'll seek election to a full term, but indicated that he won't be pressed into making that call.

Burris waved off questions about his political future at a Monday event in Mascoutah.

He's on a three-day tour of southern Illinois to discuss the recession.

The tour comes as the Sangamon County State's Attorney investigates whether Burris committed perjury before a state House committee. Burris says he hasn't been approached by authorities, but he'll cooperate in the investigation.

Burris was appointed by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who's been indicted on charges that he allegedly tried to sell President Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat.

On Monday, Burris insisted the Blagojevich criminal matter has nothing to do with him.
