Bulls believe they will bounce back
While the Celtics took Friday off, the Bulls went to work watching video from the Game 3 loss, followed by a one-hour practice session at the Berto Center.
"It just seemed like we were relaxed coming home," guard Ben Gordon said. "We didn't have that edge. These next few days are about getting our edge back and playing the way we did on the road."
Trailing 2-1, the Bulls should feel a sense of urgency Sunday because they don't want to fall behind 3-1 with Game 5 back in Boston on Tuesday.
"I think we'll be all right," center Joakim Noah said. "The best thing about this situation is we have a chance to redeem ourselves on Sunday. I feel like I've been learning more in these last three games than I did my whole NBA career."
Coach Vinny Del Negro felt the video session merely proved that the Bulls played really bad on Thursday. After the game, he suggested some of the young players may have lost confidence, but doesn't think it will be a long-term problem.
"I think our confidence will be fine," he said. "Everyone knows that wasn't us. I expect us to come out and play hard, play much better. But talking about it is fine, but you have to go out and do it."
Coach Cal senses pressure: John Calipari, who coached Derrick Rose at Memphis, attended Thursday's game and offered this assessment of the Bulls' meltdown during an appearance on WMVP's "Waddle and Silvy show."
"I think what happened is that the pressure of being at home and people expecting them to win changed how they played," Calipari said. "I also liked the fact that they got slaughtered instead of a 1- or 2-point loss. (Because they'll say), 'Look we got bashed. We're really going to have to play together.' Now, I think you'll see a different team."
Bull horns: Kirk Hinrich received 2 votes for the sixth man award, 1 second place and 1 third place. Dallas guard Jason Terry won the award by a wide margin over second-place J.R. Smith of Denver. ... Tickets for Sunday's Game 4 at the United Center are labeled, "Round 1, Home Game B."
