McCue back in Round Lake Park

Incumbent Mayor Jean McCue weathered what she had described as a misleading campaign Tuesday, defeating challenger Bill Baczek for the top job in Round Lake Park.

With all 8 precincts reporting, unofficial totals showed McCue with 434 votes and Baczek with 339.

McCue, appointed mayor in 2006, was on the defensive throughout the race over what she said were inaccurate claims about a projected budget deficit and other matters. Incumbent Robert Seminary and newcomers Patricia Graham and Robert Cerretti won the three trustee seats with respective unofficial votes of 433, 450 and 420.
