Bartlett man charged in fake 911 calls

Bartlett police today announced the arrest of a 30-year-old man who they said made three false 911 calls, including one Friday about an armed robbery.

Kelly Williams, of the 100 block of Stephanie Court in Bartlett, was arrested Friday and charged with three felony counts of disorderly conduct, Sgt. Michael McGuigan said.

Authorities say Williams called police and reported a man with a gun near his home, and that he'd made two similar phone calls with false reports the last two months. Police continue to investigate the motive.

Williams was taken to Cook County Jail and awaits a bond hearing at the Rolling Meadows courthouse, McGuigan said.
