Meet Batavia park board

The Batavia Park District will host a monthly "Coffee Klatsch With Commissioners" at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St., before the regular park board meeting. Topics will be posted on the district's Web site, bataviaparks.org. For details, call (630) 879-5235.

'Park Pursuit' planned

The Geneva Park District "Park Pursuit" is Wednesday, April 22, during TV Turn-Off Week. Participants will receive clues that take people to the parks and facilities throughout the park district. Prizes will be given out at each location, including Stone Creek miniature golf passes and Sunset Pool passes. Preregistration is required for this free event. Sign up for 5K race

The Fox Trot 5K run and walk is at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 26 at the Batavia Riverwalk, Island Avenue and Houston Street. Registration is $20 per person until Friday and $25 per person after that. Discounted pool passes

For those looking to have fun and save money this summer, the Fox Valley Park District will offer discount rates on season passes to Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center, Splash Country Water Park and Blackberry Farm through April 30. Aquatic passes are $50 for children age 13 and older, $45 for children between the ages of 2 and 12, and $30 for twilight passes. A complimentary friend pass is included with each purchase and pass holders are entitled to receive 10 percent off birthday party celebrations at either water park. Law school scholarships

The Kane County Bar Association seeks applicants for its annual scholarship program for area law students. In years past, the association has awarded at least two $1,000 scholarships to students who either reside in Kane County themselves or whose parents live in Kane County.
