Is public school socialism, too?

It is time that this country put aside the petty arguments and ideologies that have left us the only industrialized nation that does not consider the health of its citizens a major priority. The United States needs universal, one-payer health care to remain competitive in the world of free trade. The citizens of this country deserve it.

Currently one in six Americans are uninsured and millions more are underinsured. Even those who are insured continuously face the prospect of losing their jobs and with that job loss, their health insurance. Add to that a pre-existing condition and try getting affordable health care for you or your family. Those who cry health care for all is "socialism" should ask themselves this question. Did I or my children attend public grade schools or high schools? If so, do you consider that socialism?

People like me, who have no children, helped pay for you and your kids education. Did I complain or call it socialism? No. I believe in public education as much as I believe in public access to health care. This is The United States of America. We care for our neighbors and our fellow citizens. We, as Americans, always band together and stick together. Let us all do that now.

Tell your representative and senator that the time has come. Americans take care of each other, the weak and the strong, the wealthy and the poor. We all chip in to the best of our ability and make darn sure every American Citizen will be provided with quality, affordable health care.
