Giannoulias pledges liberty for all

As a candidate for the U.S. Senate, Alexi Giannoulias has made a bold commitment supporting equal rights for gays in marriage and in the military.

Being the only openly gay publicly elected official in Lake County that I know of (Round Lake Area Public Library trustee), I find it disturbing that so many candidates will pledge "liberty and justice for all," but will not support equal rights for all American citizens in policy.

I commend Mr. Giannoulias for his fair and honest stand.
