Mr. T called for jury duty
Pity the perspective juror who showed up for jury duty, but was dismissed after hours of down time used to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
Actor Mr. T, who was born Lawrence Tureaud, didn't shirk his civic duty Monday when he was called for jury duty at Cook County Circuit Court. The Chicago native said he enjoyed fulfilling his civic responsibilities, even though hours passed before Judge Charles Burns dismissed him.
Mr. T showed up in camouflage pants, a T-shirt and a longer version of his usual Mohawk haircut. He was first recognized by the daughter of the defendant in the case he would have heard had he become a juror.
Temeka Cartwright lamented that Mr. T wasn't chosen to hear Sondra Cartwright's drug case, adding that her mother, who was defending herself, would have picked him.
