Campaign was a valuable experience
I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to the 1,200 plus voters in the Wheeling area for coming out in my support, and for the Daily Herald's endorsement and comments made in the March 28 publication.
I have spent several years volunteering in different forms for the betterment of the community and it has given me great satisfaction to do so. Walking and talking to neighbors always opens up new insights. That is when you see residents' concerns, and find out how much worse our everyday life could be and how much more needs to be done.
I enjoy listening and discussing with neighbors how we can make things better. These are moments remembered and are more informative than just dropping fliers at the doors.
I happened across a quote that keeps me going and hopefully you:
"Always leave enough time in your life for something that makes you happy, satisfied, and even joyous. That has more of an effect on economic well being than any other single factor." - Paul Hawken
