Quinn getting tax refund

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is getting money back from Uncle Sam.

Quinn released his 2008 income tax forms Monday and they show he is to receive a refund of $9,000.

The Chicago Democrat paid $28,354 in federal taxes last year and claimed wages of $120,227.

Last year's returns cover Quinn's time as Illinois' lieutenant governor. Quinn didn't become governor until January when lawmakers impeached former Gov. Rod Blagojevich and removed him from office after his arrest on federal corruption charges.

Quinn's tax records show he donated $12,380 to charity.

The governor's tax records are open for public inspection at his offices in Chicago and in Springfield.
