Report: Blagojevich atty. drops off defense team
A published report says the man who recently signed on to represent former Gov. Rod Blagojevich after his lead defense attorney resigned has also stepped aside.
Terence Gillespie told the Chicago Tribune for a story on its Web site Friday that he's got a conflict of interest.
Gillespie says he was hired months ago to help represent William Cellini, included with the former governor in a federal racketeering indictment. Gillespie didn't immediately return a message Friday from The Associated Press.
Blagojevich still is represented by attorney Sheldon Sorosky.
Blagojevich's initial chief defense counsel, Edward M. Genson, resigned earlier this year after hinting his client had ignored his advice to stay quiet. Gillespie is Genson's law partner.
