Unique view of Lombard candidates

Having served on the Lombard village board with the two candidates for village president who are currently seated on the board, I am compelled to share my somewhat unique perspective on them. Of these two vying to lead the community, I have no doubt that Bill Mueller is the better able to temper his own desires in order to appreciate those of others, to treat those who come before the board fairly, and to work toward the consensus needed for a well-functioning government. During the years that Bill has served us, he has demonstrated himself to be a good steward of Lombard's resources, a responsive board president, a tireless advocate and respected leader of Lombard in larger governmental arenas. Bill is clearly the candidate who has the best interests of Lombard residents at heart and at mind. As a former trustee of District 3, I believe the people of this district deserve to have a representative who has the energy and intellectual capacity to fully educate himself about the goals of his constituents, the operations of the village, and the pros and cons of the myriad proposals on which he must vote. In Zachary Wilson, the residents of District 3 can have such a trustee. I was impressed with Zach's ability to balance his commitments to his family, our school community, his work, and the completion of his law degree when we worked together on the Manor Hill PTA. Since that time, Zach has shown his commitment to bettering Lombard and gained valuable experience by serving on the village's community relations committee. I am confident he is better suited than the incumbent to be an effective representative.
