It's always good to motivate students

I'm a parent who was very involved in my now-adult child's educational experience, K-12.

I find it sad to see what should have been viewed as a motivational speech to children about embracing their own education turned into political fodder.

Every parent or guardian should welcome opportunities to motivate their children about school, regardless of the source.

While people have differing political views, we all want our children to do well in school. A speech about children working hard at their studies and setting goals should not be turned into more than it really is.
