Help the country, not the president

The lesson plan given to schools for the upcoming classroom video encourages the children to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president." Excuse me, I thought that children should be encouraged to help the country, since our government consists of three equal branches, executive, legislative, and judicial. A president is but one third of the leadership of the country, in a system created by the founding fathers who had incorporated the best elements of governmental systems tried throughout the history of man into the Constitution.

Encouraging the school children to help only the executive branch leader smacks of political influence. This is a dangerous plan to shove one man's views, as obvious by just this one statement, down the throats of the children of our country in a very personal way, through the classroom experience. That goes for previous presidents of all political parties as well.
