Elgin man accused of pulling handgun during argument in Bartlett

Aggravated assault and reckless conduct charges have been filed against an Elgin man accused of pulling a handgun during an argument with a convenience store employee earlier this month in the parking lot of the Bartlett business.

Param Patel, 32, was charged with the two Class A misdemeanors after being arrested by Bartlett police.

According to police, officers responded to the convenience store on the 100 block of East Lake Street at about 4 p.m. Aug. 13 for a report of a man with a handgun.

Patel was released on a $100 bail. His next appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
