Resistance is an American tradition

An open letter to Sen. Durbin: The American people are speaking loud and clear on issues that concern them, these days so-called Health Reform among them. But our leaders and you, sir, foremost among them have resorted to calling them all manner of names, questioning their patriotism and complaining they are "organized."

Some of us know something of our history, our founders, and the principles upon which this nation was established and set apart.

You see, in 1776 another tyrant complained to his ministers about "organized resistance" and was determined to force upon Americans that what they did not want. That man was King George III and the organized resistance was the Second Continental Congress. Those founders also said we have the right, the right, to abolish any government which infringes on our rights and establish a new one.

You and your cronies have been in Washington too long. You are coming home soon and someone who will listen to those who elected them was stand in your stead. That is the way this republic was established and the blood of 1.2 million Americans has been shed to maintain that promise.
