Waukegan man found after missing 12 days

A Waukegan man on a 10-day pass from a nursing home was found in Chicago Monday night after going missing for 12 days, police said.

Daniel J. Wedrall, 47, was found on the 2700 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue by an employee of a nearby business, Father and Son Pizza, where Wedrall's father used to work, Waukegan police said.

Police said Wedrall's father called the restaurant staff after he went missing on Nov. 25 and told them to be on the lookout for Wedrall because he was found near the area after going missing once before. An employee saw Wedrall Monday evening but could not detain him. Glen Lakes Nursing Home staff were able to detain Wedrall and brought him to Visa Hospital in Waukegan for examination, police said.

Wedrall was released from the hospital and returned to Glen Lakes Nursing Home, police said.
