Kolssak not ready; Abruscato is
As stated in the Daily Herald on Feb. 26, 2009: (David) Kolssak said he would like the Village of Wheeling to offer new and existing businesses incentives to stay and grow in the Village. He favors bringing back the facade improvement grant which was recently discontinued by the Village.
To clarify:
• The facade improvement grant was never discontinued. Fortunately, the Kolssak family has taken advantage of this program for both Turnkey IT and for Kolssak Funeral Home.
• The 6b Real Estate Tax Incentive for business to stay in town and grow their business has been in and still is in place.
• During the Lexington forum, Kolssak admitted that all the presidential and trustee candidates have more public service and experience than he possesses. Well, he was correct on this one!
• Kolssak has attended only two village of Wheeling meetings. The first meeting was to obtain his facade grant check. He also attended the first meeting held in the new Village Hall. He did not stay for the majority of the meeting; he left early.
• Kolssak has accused the Village Board of changing the guidelines to allow a developer into the Town Center TIF. This is incorrect. It is also public record.
Mr. Kolssak, you are shooting from the hip and your ammunition is half-truths and innuendos. You have been endorsed by Greg Klatecki, who abruptly resigned his position with the Village of Wheeling. Your campaign manager is an ex-employee of the Village of Wheeling. One would think that with this former "Inside" help you would have your facts straight.
Wheeling future holds both exciting opportunities and challenges. Public trust is something that is earned; the citizens do not issue learners' permits for the position of Village President. Please vote for Judy Abruscato for Village President. She has 22 years of outstanding and passionate experience and service to the Village of Wheeling. She has earned your trust and your vote.
