Insurance companies control health policy
Are you happy with your medical insurance?
In the heated debate over health care reform, I keep hearing from the opponents that they are happy with their medical insurance. I am sure that the 70 employees of the SK tool corporation were happy with their medical insurance too, until their company dropped their medical insurance without notice. Now these employees can try to get private insurance. The problem is, if they smoke, they are overweight, take any medications, or have any illnesses, they're not likely to get accepted by the insurance companies. Even if they do get medical insurance, it will cost them two to three times what they paid previously for half the coverage.
It's time people wake up and stop siding with the insurance and medical companies and their lobbyists who are paying our Congress millions of dollars to kill reforms. We need a public option to compete with the insurance companies to lower our cost. Call your representatives in Congress and the U.S. Senate to finally do what's right for the people.
