Downers Grove teen charged with criminal sexual abuse

Naperville police have arrested a Downers Grove teen in connection with illegal sexual conduct involving three underage victims.

Trevor R. Zirkin, 19, of 2130 Prentiss Drive, Downers Grove, is charged with six counts of criminal sexual abuse, a Class A misdemeanor. Zirkin lived in Naperville at 2949 Brossman St. as recently as two weeks ago.

Police believe Zirkin was involved in sexual conduct with three underage girls who he befriended in person, according to Cmdr. Mike Anders. Police would not give the exact ages of the girls, but said the charges that were filed against Zirkin apply when the victims are between 13 and 16.

Police have been investigating Zirkin since Aug. 28 and conducted extensive interviews with the girls.

The city's patrol tactical team arrested Zirkin at 9 p.m. Monday at his Downers Grove home. He was taken to the Naperville Police Department detention facility and was released just after midnight Tuesday after posting the required 10 percent of his $15,000 bond. He is due in court on Dec. 29 in Will County.

Naperville police are continuing to investigate and Anders said they are concerned there may be additional victims.
