Hunting for a place to celebrate Easter?
Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church in Lake Zurich hosts an Easter celebration Sunday that includes a complimentary breakfast and an Easter egg hunt for children. The free breakfast buffet starts at 9:30 a.m. and includes ham, eggs, cinnamon rolls and coffee. A resurrection celebration service follows at 11 a.m. with a performance by the Easter Kid's Choir and the big Easter egg hunt. A nursery will be available for children as well.
Golf outing scheduled:
The Mundelein Police Department will sponsor a golf outing May 27 to benefit Special Olympics. The event is set for the Steeple Chase Golf Course, 200 N. LaVista Drive, Mundelein. A $90 admission fee covers golf, a cart and a hot buffet lunch. Hole sponsorships are available. For more information, call (847) 968-3775.
Gurnee traffic patrol results:
Gurnee police have announced results from a special enforcement throughout the village, March 6 to 22. Authorities focused on open transportation of alcohol, speeding and safety restraint use. Gurnee cops made five drunken driving arrests during the campaign and one for open transportation of alcohol. Police also wrote four tickets for safety restraint violations and issued nine tickets to alleged speeders. In all, police stopped 40 vehicles for the special traffic enforcement campaign and wrote 57 citations.
Liquor OK at foundation event:
Gurnee village board members Monday night approved the serving of alcoholic beverages at a Woodland Education Foundation event set for April 18 at Hunt Club Park Community Center. The foundation will get a one-day liquor license to sell wine and beer. The event is dubbed Woodland Wishes Benefit Auction. Woodland Elementary District 50's headquarters building is in Gurnee.
