• The Dog Saving Network is holding open auditions for trainers and their dogs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. • NoMi LaMad Dance brings back its "So You Wanna Dance" competition. It's divided into three age groups (juniors ages 10-12; teens ages 13-15 and seniors ages 16-18) and begins 10 a.m. Sunday, April 19. Competing teens pay $25; audience members pay $5. • The Dance Center of Columbia College seeks contemporary dance artists to apply for "The A.W.A.R.D. Show! 2009: Chicago" with the chance of winning $10,000 in grant money. • The 29th annual Carey Rose Winski Dance Scholarship Competition is 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Lou Conte Dance Studio, 1147 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago. The competition is open to any U.S. dancer between the ages of 13 and 18. Competitors participate in a one-hour classical warm-up class and perform two three-minute solos in classical ballet and a modern style (no tap).
