Maday visits Hanover Park bar after fleeing police
Robert Maday went to a popular Hanover Park bar in what may turn out to be his final outing for a while.
Maday was seen late Thursday afternoon at Prairie Station Pub & Grill, 1951 Ontarioville Road - about the time police were wrapping up a manhunt for him in south Arlington Heights. The bar near Hanover Park's Metra commuter rail station features a beer garden and is known for its karaoke nights.
Bartlett resident Tom Nelson said he was at Prairie Station when two customers began arguing about whether a guy outside the door was Maday, whose mug shot was splashed across local television and on newspaper Web sites after he went on the run. The dispute became loud enough for Maday to hear what was going on, Nelson recalled while visiting the pub Saturday.
"Then he (Maday) very carefully and slowly left the premises. He didn't run, he didn't panic, he just slowly walked away," said Nelson.
