Leaders needed to fix health care

Although we may narrowly escape having over 1,000 unread pages of health care imposed upon us, the fact remains that our health care system is still badly in need of reform.

If it weren't for the grass roots "far right wing radicals" organizing tea parties and disrupting town hall meetings, and "has beans" Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin, the Obama monster-deficit legislative blitzkrieg would have continued to roll unchallenged. Does passing nearly $1 trillion in new spending, or attempting to radically change our health care system without allowing debate demonstrate democratic or totalitarian leadership?

We need principled and idealistic leaders, who are optimistic and possess the communication skills to provide vision and hope (Ronald Reagan, anyone?).

Barack Obama is all these things, I just disagree with his vision and methods. We need leaders who will determine and address the issues of the forgotten man, and commit to finding solutions (Contract with America, anyone?).

Leaders are needed who will help us make more money and keep it in our pockets, rather than take our money to make us dependent then redistribute it to buy votes. Fewer career politicians are needed who are owned by big money special interests and whose primary concern is getting re-elected. A seeming majority of citizens were dangled over a cliff by Obama's health care, while many of our elected officials sat by and watched.

Grass roots movement is one thing. Being used as pawns is something else.

There should be a wake-up call for out-of-touch self-contented politicians. Suggestions by John Mackey of Whole Foods should be attached to the entrance of the Capitol with "Do this instead" written boldly at the top. The common man needs help, and more leadership from his leaders.
