Continue support after high school

The story about the autistic high school football player and everyone involved in giving him the chance to shine was heartwarming. Three cheers for all involved.

One can only hope that his compassionate teammates and classmates will continue to support that young man throughout the year by including him occasionally in their other school and social events. He will need their friendship the most next year, after they graduate, and in years to come as well.

It would be nice if they kept in touch so that when their 5th or 10th year class reunion comes around, the young man can feel welcomed to join with them again to relive that moment of glory with people he is comfortable with and who he knows care about him. That will be a gift that all would benefit from.
