7 hurt in three-vehicle crash in East Dundee

A three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Route 25 in East Dundee sent seven people to hospital, police said.

The crash in front of Wal-Mart happened at about 12:15 p.m. when a vehicle exiting the parking lot was apparently struck by at least one vehicle heading north on Route 25, Officer Jeff Clark said.

Occupants of the three vehicles were taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin and St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Conditions of the patients are unknown, Clark said.

Police are still investigating and no citations have been filed.

It is unclear if the vehicle exiting the parking lot was turning south onto Route 25 or headed across the intersection. Police could not say how the third vehicle was involved.
