True leaders raise questions

High School District 214 apparently is doing a fine job of instilling critical thinking in some of its students.

Jack Redding, Elk Grove High School senior, decided he needed more information before he would sign a card showing his support for Elk Grove Village's Mayor Craig Johnson's impassioned cause: the ring road. Mr. Redding quickly researched the proposal and was able to present two options. What a great idea when controversy is involved.

Board member Lenore Gonzales Bragaw also showed independence, thinking it unwise to support the ring road when presented with only that option. She refused to act under pressure.

Thanks to both members of the District 214 community for outstanding leadership.
