Field Museum moves 200 items because of leaky roof
Nearly 200 historical artifacts were quickly removed from the Field Museum to save them from damage from a leaking roof.
Museum senior vice president Lance Grande said Sunday that workers rushed to move the masks, textiles and baskets from a third-floor storage room on Friday. Many of the objects had gotten wet from a broken drainage pipe.
Staff were warned by alarm and Grande says the three wet objects that were damaged would be restored this week.
The pipe is to be repaired Tuesday.
