Recall a tool voters deserve to have

Recall is just another tool in the voter's toolbox to ensure that their elected officials act in the best interest of the community. The disruption that has been caused has gone far beyond mediation at this point - it is the voter, not the board, who decides who stays and who goes.

Mrs. Stone, contends that she offered an "Independent Voice" to challenge the status quo, which I interpreted to read, "That it was only her voice that matters."

I agree with you, that her approach is not consensus-building, but a direct result of a personal agenda against this sitting board, village employees and to the community she has sworn to represent.

If you take a poll of Buffalo Grove residents, I am sure the consensus will be that "she has to go." To back up this claim, is to examine the many articles written about our village, read the many blog entries and view the board meetings online.

Prior to the election in April, the meetings were held with the type of decorum we expect our elected officials to be engaged with. In her very first meeting, it was Mrs. Stone, seen standing, waving her arms up and down like a duck to disrupt and to fire up the pro-anti OTB crowd she gathered for the vote.

That wasn't leadership; this was a blatant disregard for the decorum which placed many residents immediately at odds against her. However, this behavior didn't stop here, it continues today.

I wonder if the editorial board is having endorsement remorse over their decision to back Lisa Stone. And the only way to save face is to offer mediation versus removal.

I wonder if Sidney Mathias, David Stolman, Brian Ruben, and Elliott Hartstein have come to regret their endorsements as well? I have looked to the Daily Herald for their unbiased opinions, or has that trust in your publication been misguided?
